2014s Spring

Review: 2014s Spring

Spring is a film which kept popping up on my radar, but I never watched it. Don’t we all have some movies like that? And do we ever really have a good excuse for putting them off?
Spring stars Lou Taylor Pucci ( Evil Dead remake) as Evan and Nadia Hilker (Walking Dead) as Louise. Evan is a young man who, after losing his mother to cancer and gets in a fight and loses his job, decides to travel to Italy. During his travels, he meets a beautiful young woman named Louise, and that’s where I’ll leave it to you.
I. Loved. This. Movie.
As someone who has been through his share of ups and downs, I immediately connected with Evan and his struggles. But there is so much to love about this film. This is how you low-budget, people. It’s scored well, shot well, acted well, and edited well. I wanted to see what happened to our characters and cared about them.
Some fantastic Lovecraftian elements in the film.
And the ending. Perfect. Choked me up.
I really don’t think I have any negatives on this, and if I did, they would just be nitpicks.
Honestly, this movie is probably going to appear somewhere on my top horror films of all time, and now I’m excited to jump in to the Endless Universe if films.
10/10
