09 May Review: Extremely Wicked Shockingly Evil and Vile
2019s Extremely Wicked Shockingly Evil and Vile
Even though I’ll be typing more words in the review, I’m not going to write out that title again because it’s just too long. So, we’ll call it Ted Efron.
– Well made. Shot and scored well.
– Well acted. Efron did an excellent job, as everyone else did in the film. However, it was hard to remove Zac Efron from everything else he has done. But great cast and performances.
And now my negatives, which really is just one point:
This whole thing feels like a pro-Bundy film. He is just painted as a good guy the whole time, and when they show a scene where it finally shows he was a bad guy, it was pretty weak. It was such an opportunity to do something dark and worthy of the title of the film, and it was just weak.
It was entertaining, well made, and of a subject matter which I’ve always been fascinated, but just didn’t have enough of a high point for me. And with how positively they spun Bundy, it’s almost offensive. He was a monster who ruined a lot of lives, and didn’t really show who he was.
